American Craft Beer Week 2009 Recap

The 2009 celebration helped highlight the importance of small, independent craft brewers. Thousands declared Beer Independence during the weeklong celebration.

This year's American Craft Beer Week celebration, held the week of May 11-17, boasted a recorded number of breweries celebrating the week that highlights the positive impact of small and independent breweries (see Craft Brewing Statistics). Over 200 breweries posted more than 500 events in recognition of the 2009 American Craft Beer Week. Also, Breweries along with beer enthusiasts signed the Declaration of Beer Independence, a document that celebrates America's small and independent craft brewers. The American Craft Beer Week fan page on Facebook reached over 10,000 fans as of May 17, 2009.

Stay tuned as the 2010 celebration will be held May 17-23, 2010.
